Product Description
This is a simple daily review activity my students complete everyday as they enter the classroom. Each file is 2 pages, which I print front to back and then cut in half. Students complete the counting/number review by writing a series of 10 or 20 numbers. During the beginning of the year, our focus is 1 – 10, but as the year progresses, students work at their own ability level. One child may be working on 1 – 20, another child could be writing numbers 41 – 60. My students bring their papers to me or one of their peers each day for a quick check. If the student is able to identify the numbers she reviewed, she could continue with the next series of 20 numbers. The back of the paper varied throughout the year, from a blank number review for additional practice at home to sight word, time, and/or money review. When students are ready to build their sight word vocabularies, I underline six new words on our word wall each day. Students copy and review the six words with a classmate. For money review, I post different coins in a designated area of the room. I start by just introducing coins and progress to counting mixed coins by the end of the year. Students review time by drawing the hands on our designated analog clock and then write the correct time in digital format. I start with time by the hour and progress to time by 5-minute intervals. This is a great 30 minute activity that can be used as a formative assessment while incorporating peer evaluation/assessment.
