Product Description
This pack includes 9 different activities that are aligned with the common core standards to be used during Daily 5 word work time. These activities can be put out for the entire month for students to choose or several different activities each week. Many of the activities can be used by students individually and all are ready to be used in cooperative groups.


Rhyming - mystery word rhymes. Students will use magnifying glasses to find mystery words hidden in two different spring pictures. Students will record the mystery words and then record a word that rhymes with that word (RF.K.2a)

Syllables – Students will count and segment syllables of pictures, sort them by number of syllables and glue them to a graph (RF.K.2b)

Onset/rime – Students will create a flip book of words and pictures in the “en” family (RF.K.2c)

CVC words - Students will create a book of CVC words. They will be given the pictures and will glue in their book template and stretch out the sounds to write the CVC words (RF.K. 2d)

Add/ substitute individual sounds to create new words – Students will combine raindrops with letters (onset) with rimes on umbrellas to create words. They will record their work on a recording sheet (RF.K.2e)

Long vowel sounds – Students will use a “magic e wand” to change CVC words into CVCe words and record their work (RF.K.3b)

High Frequencey Words/Sight words – Two different activities with 5 different word sets for each 1.) Students will stamp with letter stamps and rainbow write the sight words 2.) students will use dice and write one of the sight words for each number on the dice. (RF.K.3c)

High Frequencey Words/Sight words – sight word Go Fish and Old Maid with an earth day theme (RF.K.3c)
