Daily Writer is a 29 day expository writing activity. Students are assigned a number and each day complete the prompt for that slide. The teacher rotates the slides by moving the first slide to the bottom of the presentation each day. Numbers would start with 2 and could go through 29.
Each day I would move slide 2 below slide 30, this gives students a new prompt each time. Within 29 days each student would have 29 journal entries that can be easily viewed and graded.
We have one-to-one technology which makes this an easy and quick assignment for morning work or a writing warm up.
I will be using this in my Google Classroom with Google Slides. Each day I will make a new copy to push to the students with their new prompts. This will allow me to keep a running record of each students writing progress. It will also be easy to share with parents as well as using it for peer review practice.
I am a Texas teacher and use this for STAAR Writing practice.
