Product Description
The Dakota Conflict or US-Dakota War of 1862 is very controversial. However, it needs to be taught in our schools. The US-Dakota War of 1862 lead to the largest mass execution in American history. The events of the US-Dakota War are shaped by leaders like Little Crow, Alexander Ramsey, and Abraham Lincoln. Students will complete this webquest by examining the following website:

http://www.usdakotawar.org/
Click here to view the website

The webquest contains 50 questions and the teacher answer sheet is also included. The webquest will take at least 30 to 60 minutes to finish depending on the age level of the students. A QR code and a traditional website link are included. The webquest can easily help with a classroom discussion on Native American treaties and polices with the federal government. Abraham Lincoln’s role in the largest mass execution in American history can also be debated.

This webquest is great for introducing, reinforcing, or complimenting topics on Westward expansion, Civil War, Native Americans, or Minnesota history. The webquest can be used to generate classroom discussion or be used as homework. Feel free to modify this webquest as needed for your classes.
