Dance educators know all too well that there are times when dancers may not physically be able to participate in dance class. Things such as illness, injury, and teenage drama just tend to interrupt their motivation and ability to focus or complete physical tasks. That’s why I’ve created the dance observation packet. Use this observation packet to engage students in the class while sitting out for the day. Students are required, through the observation packet, to observe their fellow dancers, answer questions about the class, and to reflect on dance topics. I usually require my dancers to submit the form before they leave the studio for the day to gain participation points. Print, copy, and file in an accessible place for your students to access. Yay for dance classroom management!
