This resource contains a series of 3 lesson plans for the learning area of dance, drama and media arts, these lesson have designed for a year 3/4 class to explore the theme circus. All lesson are linked to the Australian Curriculum.

Lesson one:

This lesson aims to teach students about the choreographic devices of repetition and contrast in dance, this will be done through exploring the theme of the circus. Students will learn about repetition and contrast through creating a short dance piece about an act that might be in the circus.

Lesson two:

This lesson aims to build upon students knowledge of improvisation. This lesson also aims to teach students how to use empathy when creating a drama piece through the use of characters.

Lesson three:

This lesson aims to teach students how to create an advertisement for a circus that is targeted for a particular audience.
