An activity for high school chemistry or physical science. Students are given the cards with an ion on it, they need to dance around the room as the music plays. When the music stops, hands up pair up and make an ionic compound. They need to write the symbols of the ions down in the appropriate places, then switch cards. The music tarts up and they dance around again to make a new & different match. After 10 minutes, they write the correct formulas and names for the compounds made.
My kids loved it. I played Paula Abdul, Opposites Attract and Weird Al White and Nerdy while they danced. If they refuse to dance, I danced near them and they usually moved away- at least they were moving.
