Dancing through Phonics and Spelling is a programme that has been developed through years of work and teaching expertise. The schools who already use Dancing through Phonics and Spelling are extremely happy with the resource.

The full service programme is made up of a Complete Phonic Programme and Key Words for Years/Grades 1, 2, 3 along with a programme for Years 4,5,6 and 7.

Year 1 is a 26 week programme including class tasks, homework, practice lists and children's self assessments based on Step 1 single sounds, blending and CVC words, Step 2 final blends (part 1), consonant digraphs and 12 Year 1 key words along with flashcards, bingo and suggested activities.

Year 2 is a 23 week programme including homework, practice lists and children's self assessments based on Step 2 final blends (part 2) and consonant digraphs, Step 3 vowel digraphs, Year 2 key words (written), Magic "e along with flashcards, bingo and suggested activities.

Year 3 is a 27 week programme including class tasks, homework, practice lists and children's self assessment based on Step 4 initial blends, Step 5 vowel digraphs consolidation, Step 6 Year 3 key words (written) and Step 7 tricky words along with flashcard, bingo and suggested activities.

The programme for years 4,5,6 and 7 includes Step 7 tricky words, class tasks, homework, practice lists and children's self assessments based on 90 - Year 4 key words, 120 - Year 5 key words, 98 - Years 6/7 key words and Fry's 1st 1000 common words used as part of a whole school spelling programme.

The programme also includes the Additional Support Needs Phonic Programme, Key Words, Common Words and Faster Phonics.

The Additional Support Needs Phonic Programme is a full service programme made up of 7 steps.

The Key Words Resources included in this programme have been prepared from research carried out by McNally and Murray. The lists of words can be used for the teaching and assessment of high frequency words as part of a whole school programme. The lists are shorter than some commercially produced material but it has been found that the success rate for the majority of pupils is much higher. The lists become progressively longer and have been graded from Years 1-6. (All 310 words can be reinforced in P7).

The Common Words Resources included in this programme have been prepared using the first 1000 words which appears most frequently in written materials. The lists of words can be used for the teaching and assessment of high frequency words as part of a whole school spelling programme.

Each individual aspect of the programme is also available to buy separately although a 20% discount is applied for purchasing the whole programme compared to the cost of buying each aspect.
