Dangerous! by Tim Warnes is a great picture book to use as a mentor text in writing in an intermediate classroom. There are a few different ways you can use the class book pages.
Students write adjectives all around the picture of the animal and then write a descriptive paragraph using those adjectives. Once complete, the pages can be glued onto a sheet of 12 x 18 construction paper.
There is a blank page, if you want to let students pick their own animals for the class book project.
We put the adjective pages into our writing notebooks (spiral journals) and a rough draft of the class book animal page.
This pack includes adjective information pages and the pages needed to do the class book activity! It also includes an activity to do as a whole class in order to come up with different adjectives for an animal.
