Charlotte Danielson Summative Rating Guide
This simple, easy to use guide divides each of the 75 elements of the Charlotte Danielson Model of Evaluation into numerical values based on the four categories of Unsatisfactory, Basic, Proficient and Distinguished ratings. This way, the evaluator can put a numerical value to each element helping to eliminate the bias and subjectivity out of the overall categorization of staff.
Once each element is given a numerical value, each component is added. That total value is added to a Domain total value and all four Domains are added for a final summative rating.
Using this summative form, the evaluator can easily discuss with staff which elements were rated Unsatisfactory, Basic, Proficient and Distinguished and how these ratings affected the overall summative rating of the staff member.
