PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) is one of the greatest poets in history and his Divine Comedy is one of the supreme religious allegories in any language. It is the story of Dante’s journey through hell, purgatory, and paradise on his way to religious understanding. It is also one of the first great works of literature written in the vernacular, the language that the author speaks, instead of Latin. Dante’s language is Italian, and the language of The Divine Comedy is the basis of modern Italian. The class will be looking at a portion of Hell named “Nether Hell 2; The Sins of the Wolf.” A Common Core approach to Medieval Christianity with students demonstrating their understanding through visually and orally.
