I created this unit for my 10th grade Latin 3 students. It includes Ovid's lines of the Daphne and Apollo myth in three portions with English summaries of the missing parts. The following lines appear here:
lines 452-473 (Apollo comes upon Cupid)
lines 495-507 (Apollo views Daphne) & lines 543-545 (Daphne's prayer to her father)
lines 548-567 (Daphne's transformation & future role)
Also included is a running vocabulary of unfamiliar words, some notes on translation, and comprehension questions. With each passage there is an artwork analysis activity, too. Each passage has a list of verbs of which students should identify the tense and mood. The first passage asks students to identify poetic figures of speech and examples of poetic word order. I have also tried to include as many macrons as I could identify.
Thanks for visiting Mrs Macs Musings!
