Are you looking for a way to organize and start analyzing your classroom/grade level data? This spreadsheet has been formatted to do just that. You will be able to enter in assessments and scores for each student. The tables have be formatted to calculate the class average, as well as the deviation of your data. Using this information, you will be able to identify students who may be at-risk for not meeting grade level expectations.
By using this chart throughout the school year, and staying consistent with your assessment measures, you will also be able to document student growth.
Not only do I use this data chart to help identify students in need, but it also helps to determine if your classroom instruction is meeting the needs of the majority of your students. From this, and in line with the recommendations of RtI, 80%+ of your students should be meeting grade level benchmarks.
I have included a sample page so you can see what a completed spreadsheet looks like. I have also included an explanation about how using the average and standard deviation can help you to identify students at-risk, and help you make decisions about their intervention plan.
Note: Space has been provided for seven assessments per semester. This data cart is meant more for universal/benchmark assessments, but could be adapted for a grade book. If you need any help adjusting this to fit your needs, please email me.
