Give students a fun and creative outlet for learning about data display!
Students love this project, creating and collecting their own survey data. The display portion of the project is very flexible, allowing for students to work outside or inside of class, even in small groups if you desire. Several suggestions for differentiation are included!
Included in this packet are:
1. Teacher Instructions Guide (this file) which includes:
a. Student handout
b. TWO optional grading rubrics
c. My teaching notes/rough lesson plan followed
d. Chart templates that may or may not be utilized in class for circle graphs, line plot, box-and-whisker, Stem-and-Leaf Plot, bar chart, histogram (you may choose to have students use their own paper instead of printing templates).
2. Data Survey Project – Data Collection Forms.DOCx
This file is a template for students to use to collect survey data. It has one form for collecting NUMERIC data or an alternate form to use to collect NON-NUMERIC data. It is a word file that is EDITABLE for your customization.
