One of the things I always forget to do is update the date on the board. My kids would tell me every single day to change the date because it was wrong. I resorted to just verbally telling them the date. Weeks would go by and an ancient date was still up on the board. OOPS!
Enter this idea! The goal with this board is that it is going to be a student job to maintain it. I’m going to be assigning it to our general helper but if you have a calendar helper, that child can easily do it each day!
I love ideas that are easy to maintain and this one is perfect for children to take over for the classroom.
I suggest placing this resource in an area that is easily seen across the room, but also a place where every child in class can reach it to change the date out.
You can use tape or Velcro to hold up the date pieces. I will be using StikkiClips because they are so easy to use!
Two options are included for the display.
- Numerical: 10/15/19
- Long Form: October 15, 2019
Boards and cards are included for both formats.
You can print your main board two different ways. One way is to take it to Staples or Office Max and have the sheet printed on ledger sized paper measuring 11x17 inches. It costs less than a $1 to have this done. I upgraded to cardstock ledger paper and it was still well under $1 to print.
You can print this out as a poster at home. It will print on two sheets of paper and you can then glue the two pieces together. I already cut the image for you so you don't have to figure out any poster settings on your printer. Just hit print!
I included three color options:
- Neon/Bright Colors: Looks exactly like mine in the preview.
- Pastel Colors
- Primary Colors
