This is a fun activity to do with your students to teach them about the Day of the Dead or if you're simply looking for a fun activity to do for Halloween. This activity includes links to my favorite YouTube videos for kids about the Day of the Dead, including an incredible animated short film that speaks to children of all ages. After watching and learning, have kids create their own sugar skull mask, (4 unique designs). There is also a worksheet that explains how the Day of the Dead is celebrated in Mexico completely in Spanish and then has students associate pictures with new vocabulary words.
Teacher Tip! For kids that finish early, have them work on the coloring page or word search included at the end.
