This day of the dead (día de los muertos) mini-unit is perfect for beginning Spanish , bilingual or social studies classrooms! This mini-unit has students activate their prior knowledge, ask questions, discuss, compare and contrast and reflect on the day of the dead holiday. This unit is intended to be used alongside a short text or video about the typical day of the dead traditions and associated beliefs. Some video clip suggestions are included in the "resource" page of the document, as well as a link to a very helpful .pdf available on the internet. The graphic organizer is designed so that it can be applied to readings, video or independent web research. Check out my tpt store for the free resource ("día de los muertos en fotos") to accompany the mini-unit.
