Pepper helps students learn how and why El Día de los Muertos is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd in Mexico. It is a time to remember and cherish loved ones who have died, to celebrate their lives and to enjoy some festive traditions. Spanish vocabulary for the holiday is included.
NEW for 2016: Pepper has added a two-page "El Día de los Muertos" sheet completely in Spanish for those teaching Spanish-speaking students or students in Spanish 3 or 4. It comes in color, black and white, Spanish, and Spanish with English subtitles. (If you already own this product, you can download this for free!)
There is a detailed eight-page 'newspaper' for older students, simpler booklets for younger students (in medium and easy formats), and sheets for the youngest students to use. The interactive PowerPoint presentation allows students to provide answers before they are shown on the next slide. Pepper has also included a vocabulary word quiz, a quiz on the Day of the Dead, writing practice sheets, and instructions for a simple, lit display for honoring people who have influenced students' lives, with optional writing activities. Therefore this package can be used for those in Pre-K to Grade 8 or higher (or ages 3 to 13). The documents are in PDF, PowerPoint and Word so you can edit them.
