Product Description
I am so excited to share the children of W.A.T.T. Valley with you!!! This brand new series has been years in development, and the characters you will meet in W.A.T.T. Valley have been thoughtfully designed to provide your students with inspiration and encouragement!

This W.A.T.T. resource pack centers on the adventures of Daydreaming Danny. These are excellent resources for use in collaboration with other W.A.T.T. Valley learning materials, however they are also excellent stand-alone elements for encouraging your students to develop important critical and creative thinking skills, applicable in both classroom and real-world settings.

Daydreaming Danny loves to use his imagination. He uses DRAWING to improve and express his CREATIVE THINKING.

Through the use of this resource pack, Daydreaming Danny encourages your students to:
1) Have fun!
2) Be fearless!
3) Be creative!
4) Be original!

Children are naturally creative and spontaneous, however, there is much we can do as teachers to foster students’ hunger for innovation and originality. Join Mrs. Foster as she helps Danny understand that doodling can be a great way to explore ideas, thoughts, and “wonders.”

In working with my own students, I frequently explain to them the importance of adding details, background, color, and perspective in completing their Danny daydream drawings. Hopefully your students will feel freedom and fearlessness, and over time, you will notice continual growth in the area of creative expression.

As the teacher, I encourage you to experiment with completing these doodles yourself, as well with using a variety of art mediums. I always tell my students that it is not about how well you draw, but about the creativity and uniqueness of your ideas!
Shannon

Additional Notes: This resource lends itself easily to creative writing extensions with Writer Will. Included in the Appendix are several Writer Will stationery options for use in this manner. Even more Writer Will resources are also available in the W.A.T.T. Valley series.

I also often photocopy Danny’s Daydreams onto the back of “W.A.T.T. Valley Mind Stretches with WP and Tucker” for a complete Mind Stretch Workout using both creative and critical thinking skills.
