Are your students using the same words over and over? Good, bad, really, very, stuff, thing... these words are often overused and abused by students in their writing. So... kill them!
This word choice lesson focuses on "killing" off certain common non-descriptive words and getting students to replace them with more specific and vivid words.
This product includes: a lesson plan, tombstone worksheet, eulogy worksheet, a sample eulogy, a dead word synonym handout, and an extension worksheet on word choice.
Students will write a final eulogy to the given word, come up with synonyms to replace the word, then practice the skill in their writing.
