As a Teacher of the Deaf, it is essential that we teach our students how to advocate their academic, behavioral and personal needs! In order to help my students reach that goal, I had them record (with parental consent received, prior to recording) in-service videos that were then shared with their classroom teachers. It helped to give them a better understanding of the student's needs, their speech production and an overall display of their functional level. I was able to collect teacher e-mails and then e-mail the recordings to the selected teachers for review, should they need it AFTER the in-service was held. I created this 3 page Word Document, that can be edited and personalized to further assist Teachers of the Deaf create in-service videos for their students! I tried to make them at the conclusion of the academic school year to SHOW/USE at the next school year's beginning-of-the-year in-services! Teachers and Staff really appreciated them! I LOVED helping my students become self-advocates and creating these videos with them! Hopefully you'll find this outline of my videos as resourceful as I do!
