This product is absolutely perfect for introducing the ideas or probability in a fun and interesting way. This activity also works great if you have a spare class or need a fun sub plan.
This product contains
- an instruction sheet with a step by step guide on how to play
- 26 printable briefcases
- Deal or No Deal Game Sheet
Deal or No Deal used to be a very popular show. The entire show was based on probability. This product allows you to play a class size game of Deal or No Deal with your students acting as a unified contestant and you are the banker. Students pick case by case to try and win the highest prize. After each round of picking ,students need to calculate some probabilities to determine if they should take the bankers offer or not.
In the past, this activity has not only been a life saver but has really engaged students with probability. Students really get into this game and you can hear their cheers when low briefcases are revealed and their huffs and puffs when the high briefcases are lost. It also brings up a lot of interesting conversations on the student's behalf because they have to come to a class decision on if they are going to take the bankers deal or not. I have used this activity with subs as well and it has always been a success.
