Are you thinking about doing a novel study for "Dear Mr. Henshaw" by Beverly Cleary? If so, this packet of materials is all you need! A unit outline is provided that divides the book into four sections.
For EACH section, you get:
•Writing prompt that encourages higher level thinking and creativity
•Higher level thinking questions to use in literature circles
•Comprehension questions (10 questions)
•Vocabulary words (8 words chosen from the reading)
•Quiz (Vocabulary and Comprehension)
•Quiz Answer Keys
I have also included a Question and Prediction Graphic Organizer that I use in all my novel studies. Before starting each section, have your students practice their questioning and predicting skills by writing three questions about what they want to know in the section and make a prediction about what they think will happen.
I don’t have answer keys for the comprehension questions because I always have the students check them together.
I also have a novel study for the sequel, "Strider", in my listings. There are answer keys for the comprehension questions for that novel study.
Samples are provided for this novel study if you want to take a look.
