Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary is a book about a young boy, Leigh Botts, who writes to his favorite author. In the book, we do not see Mr. Henshaw's responses, but through the use of inference, we see how Mr. Henshaw responded. Through Leigh's letters and his journal entries we are able to learn about his life from what he says and what he does not say.
