Dear Mrs. LaRue is a great "First Day of School" read aloud! The illustrations and devious Ike set up a great writing prompt.
Your kids are asked to write their own deceptive letter to someone about their (fictional or realistic) first day of school.
They include a colorful illustration of the actual events and a black and white sketch of what the deceptive letter is portraying.
Another great way to teach character perspective!
It's completely editable so you can change the direction around and add to the student pages.
