This project has each class split in to two teams and debate how to best help the U.S. prosper. The two sides are to 1) raise the minimum wage, and 2) make higher education more accessible and affordable.
The contents include two, double-sided guided research worksheets (one for each side of the debate) and a graphic organizer for the teams to use.
The possible timeline would be as follows:
Day 1- Guided Research, Side 1
Day 2- Guided Research, Side 2
Day 3- Form teams; Team Work Day 1
Day 4- Team Work Day 2
Day 5- Debate Day
Side note: This project also would work well as a companion to reading "Nickel and Dimed" by Barbara Ehrenreich.
