For this project, your students will each research to learn about 1-2 different component(s) of their given decade. Components include:
-Life of Children
-Cost of Living
-Famous Music, Movies, Etc. (Pop Culture)
-Government Leaders, Laws, Etc.
Students will all put your information together to make one group presentation that gives an overview of their decade in US history. This can be done digitally or live. Two presentation options are included.
On “Decades Day,” your group will dress like they are from their given decade, bring food representative of that decade, and show off their learning! This is a fun, no-prep, highly engaging way to review U.S. history and research writing skills with your students!
This lesson would work well for all students. It would be especially engaging for "out of the box" creative thinkers, as well as Gifted and Talented students.
