I developed a quick review for each morning in December (just before mid-year benchmark time). Students name letters quickly as they pop up, make the sounds of words/nonsense words, then say the words, and listen to the teacher name an object and reply by segmenting the sounds in the words. These are activities we test them on in December. The nonsense word fluency slides have a sound file with the correct pronunciation of the word. This can be an independent center, or use as whole class warm-up each day in December.
