What time should I start cooking a turkey to be done on time.
How much more food do we need to collect?
How much will I have left to spend on my brother?
How many packages of cupcakes will I need to buy and how much will it cost?
How many strings of lights will I need to buy?
And so on.

These word problems support the following CCSS:

CCSS Math Content.3.MD.A.1 Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.

CCSS Math Content 4.0A.A.3 Solve multistep word problems posed with whole numbers and having whole-number answers using the four operations, including problems in which remainders must be interpreted. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. Assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies including rounding.

CCSS Math Content 4.MD.A.2 Use the four operations to solve word problems involving distances, intervals of time, liquid volumes, masses of objects, and money, including problems involving simple fractions or decimals, and problems that require expressing measurements given in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Represent measurement quantities using diagrams such as number line diagrams that feature a measurement scale.

PLEASE Let me know if you find any errors, so I can fix them. I have gone over and over these but you know how sometimes no matter how many times you read over something, an error can still get missed.
