This resource was created to do a math take on the Daily 5, thus the acronym, M.A.T.H.. This stands for:
M~Manipulative Mania (Using manipulatives to practice learning)
A~Addition to Knowledge (Practicing a new or just learned skill)
T~Time to Read (Combining math and literacy)
H~Helping Each Other Learn (Buddy activities and games)
This month, students will be:
~Using Base Ten Blocks (or any square blocks, erasers, etc..) and play an addition partner game with sums to 20.
~Build a snowman with pattern blocks, using a given pattern.
~Read a story problem easy reader and solve the addition and skip counting problems.
~Make a skip counting booklet, putting numbers in order.
~Solve addition and subtraction problems to 20 and sort sums/differences.
~Play a graphing and memory game with a partner.
~Match analog and digital clocks.
There are two activities this month for each letter in M.A.T.H.; the activities are also provided in black and white!
