This unit is designed bring four weeks of mentor sentences into a kindergarten or first grade classroom. The primary focus of this unit is proper conventions, penmanship and basic sentence structure. This unit takes a sentence from the mentor texts: Gingerbread Baby, Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins, The Polar Express, and Bear Stays Up For Christmas. This unit also digs into story sequencing through several sequencing activities and a hands on craft activity for each story. There is also a beginning, middle and end writing focus in this unit. All of these units can also be purchased individually for our TPT store.
