Children will imagine that they can take Santa's sleigh for the night...what would they do? Where would they go? Who would go with them? There are lots of great writing possibilities that will not only encourage writing with your students but will also encourage their creativity.
The first set of pages provided in this pack consists of a graphic organizer where students can begin to think about what they would do if they had Santa's sleigh. They will draw a picture of what they would do, one for where they would go and then they can write a few words to describe their trip. This page is repeated (as are all of the rest) in black and white (the first one is in color).
The next set of pages look the same as the first set, but your students who are a little bit more advanced in their writing can use this page to write about their ideas.
Next, students who are ready for this step can use the third set of pages to do more writing about their thoughts on this topic. It is a graphic organizer that encourages students to write about what they would do (their topic) with the sleigh. Next, they are encouraged to write about the sequence they would do their thoughts in and last they are asked to describe the trip. This part of the graphic organizers is broken into two pieces- the first asks students to describe where they would go if they had Santa's sleigh. The second set asks students to think about what they would do with Santa's sleigh.
The next set of pages is a more typical graphic organizer for students to write the sequence of what they would do it they had Santa's sleigh. It is provided in color and in black and white and also has an option with lines and one without.
Last, the students are provided with a page that they can use for the final draft of their story of what they would do with Santa's sleigh. This set comes with two different sizes of lines (one is larger for the younger writers).
