As a speech therapist, I have had many parents of students who are non-verbal/limited verbal ask me for activities they can do at home to improve their child's language skills. Most Speech Therapy homework calendars require a child to have some verbal skills, so I created this homework calendar.
This daily calendar is designed to provide suggestions of activities caregivers can do at home with young or lower functioning children. No expressive language skills are needed to complete any of these activities. Each week contains activities that target areas of common weaknesses.
The first week focuses on the letter /c/ and following one step directions.
The second week targets counting 1-10 and the color green.
The third week targets the letter /t/ and the sight words “I” and “can”
The fourth week targets holiday activities and location words.
The fifth week targets reading activities.
