December Read Aloud Books: Interactive Read Alouds with Comprehension and Writing Connections
Looking to add a year's worth of purposeful read alouds to your classroom? Check out this money saving bundle!
Interactive Read Alouds for the Entire Year
Reading stories isn't a waste of class time - it's an intelligent and purposeful use of our time.
Want to improve the effectiveness of your read aloud time? Interactive read alouds increase student engagement, increase students' understanding of the text, provide the opportunity to model comprehension strategies, teach literacy concepts, and build vocabulary.
This unit contains one page lesson for each book with preview, interactive read aloud talking points, opportunity for written response, and graphic organizer for comprehension practice.
This unit provides supplemental instruction using high quality mentor text but it DOES NOT include the actual books. These books can easily be found in your school or public library or purchased on Amazon.
This unit can be adapted for use in K-3. For younger grades, simply omit more challenging talking points and complete writing and/or comprehension activities together.
Please check out the preview to get a closer look at everything that is included in this unit.
