Description
This printable journal with 26 seasonal topics is a perfect addition to your writing curriculum or work on writing center. Looking at a big blank piece of paper can be really intimidating to a young writer. These pages are perfectly sized and designed to be inviting and interesting for your first, second, and third graders.
Print as few or as many pages as you'd like then staple together and you're set for the month! You can also print one topic at a time instead of using as a journal. Also included are colorful task cards with the same topics which provide great oral discussion prompts when you have a few minutes to fill in your schedule. Consider using the task cards to start an oral discussion before students write to help them brainstorm ideas. They can also just be placed at your writing center for your students to use with paper or a notebook if you desire.
Students will practice narrative, expository, persuasive and opinion writing, list making, writing a recipe, using graphic organizers to compare, how-to writing, acrostic poetry, writing a newspaper article, reflecting on their writing, and more!
