Description

This holiday writing activity pack is full of ways to help your students compose stories about and descriptions of gingerbread houses for mice that are nice!

They will enjoy three types of writing activities that put a new twist on C. Clement Moore's traditional poem, 'Twas The Night Before Christmas!

Creating illustrations, using time-order words, and brainstorming lists of character traits will help them complete sequential, narrative, and cause-and-effect story booklets about original holiday characters! Graphic organizers, brainstorming sheets, and writing templates are included for each story type:

HOW TO MAKE A GINGERBREAD MOUSE HOUSE

Sequential Writing--Time-Order Words

MEET MY MOUSE

Descriptive Writing--Biography

IF I HAD A HOLIDAY MOUSE IN MY HOUSE

Fiction or Non-Fiction Narrative Writing--Cause & Effect

Materials for creating anchor charts or for display in a pocket chart are included in this resource, and will provide your writers with a visual reference point for key words, picture clues, and important story elements.

Mice "peek over" patterns are included for students to color and attach to their writing so it can be hung festively on a bulletin board or hallway wall. Color ink graphics and labels are also included for use above your display, or to label supply bins at your literacy centers. Be sure to check out my thorough product preview!

Thank you for your support and patronage of my store! This unit was one of the first December units I created for TpT, and I hope you like the new and improved look and content! I think you will enjoy the additional writing prompts, and find the anchor chart materials useful as well!
