PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Each student uses the bank register provided with a starting balance to keep track of their bank account. The students draw strips out of a basket that describe different situations requiring them to either add or subtract the money amounts. I have them draw one situation strip, calculate it by hand in their register, return it to basket, draw again and repeat. After a few are complete, students can self-check or partner-check. The only prep for the teacher is to make copies, cut the strips, decide on a starting balance, and provide the container. This is a great kinesthetic activity if students are allowed walk to the container to get each situation strip. Decimal multiply and divide scenarios are also included.
