I created the Decimal Clothes Line Activity when teaching the 4.NF.6 standard. The purpose of this activity is to get the students to convert decimal fractions into decimals and then place the decimals onto a number line (clothe line). This activity include instructions, a working-out sheet for the students, cards for zero and one, 40 decimal fractions and 40 decimals in the shape of clothing, that they hang up to dry in the correct order. Helping the student visualize where and what the decimal look like goes a long way to helping them make sense of an abstract, intangible concept.
All Of My Resources Are Common Core Aligned (But Also Work Great For Those Using Other Standards):
You can feel confident that you are comprehensively teaching your students every skill in the standard with my resources, as all have been designed from the ground up to align to the CCSS. Whilst my resources have specifically been designed for 4th Grade, most will also be most applicable to higher ability students in grade 3 and lower ability students in grade 5.
Your Feedback Is Highly Valued and Much Appreciated.
I hope your students enjoy this resource and that it gives you a bit of time back in your busy life.
Please take the time to provide some feedback ☺
