This is a set of 60 pages that address seven decimal concepts. Every page is designed to highlight a unique decimal number. Decimal tenths are the focus of 30 pages and decimal hundredths are the focus of 30 pages.
Given decimal notation, students will write the word name, shade a decimal grid model, write the equivalent fraction, give an example of two decimals that are greater than or less than the number, use an inequality symbol to make a comparison between decimal notation and fraction notation, and locate the decimal on a number line. In addition, the tenths pages include adding two decimals and the hundredths pages include a connection to monetary value using dimes and pennies.
These concepts correspond to the following Common Core Standards:
This resource may be used in multiple ways. You may choose to have every student complete the same set of pages or have each student complete a unique page.
After demonstrating their decimal knowledge, students can color and decorate the pages as desired. Then you will have an eye-catching set of completed pages to hang around the classroom. This will allow your students to create a GREAT visual display of decimals!
