This is a two-player decimal game. This game was created to work with the standard: "4.NS.6: Write tenths and hundredths in decimal and fraction notations. Use words, models, standard form and expanded form to represent decimal numbers to hundredths."
Decimal Derby is a game intended to be an introduction to the conversions between fractions and decimals, it can then be made into a more challenging game with new dice, as necessary. This download provides a paper template to use as the dice for playing the game. However, when I used this activity I simply wrote on wooden cubes to create my dice so that I could use them again. The paper template is more of an example but is also functional as a dice if you do not have any other options. I have used this worksheet for many versions of this game because it can be modified to fit the difficulty level of all my students with just a small dice modification. My students loved it!
