Common Core Math Standards want students to use models to show what they know. This SMART notebook lesson is actually 2 days worth of math instruction and is a great way for students to learn how decimal division by decimal divisors work. There is plenty of explanation and guided practice problems, followed by independent practice to use for teacher assessment. On day 1 students will learn how to model decimal division with decimal divisors and on day 2 they will see how the actual algorithm works. This is an excellent SMART to use to introduce this concepts on both days. Follow it up with a game or practice activity!
