Decimal Doubles! If you are like me, you have older elementary students who are fairly comfortable with using the doubles strategy with answering basic math equations but often panick when it comes to using that same strategy with using decimals.
After working problems on the board, small groups, using worksheets, and assigning additional homework on the topic, my student's faces did not display the type of comfort that I felt they should have when being able to add simple basic decimal equations. I had to find something to help ease their minds and assure them that if they could add whole numbers using the doubles strategy, they could also do the same thing with decimals.
I created these task/scoot cards to help my students understand that they were actually smarter than what they thought they were, they just did not know it!
You can use these cards in small groups, test prep, informal assessment, or a fun game of Scoot. All you have to do is print, laminate, and they are ready to be used. Student Recording Sheets as well as an Answer Key has been provided for you.
