"The 12 Days of Christmas" Decimal Task Cards

Use these holiday-themed task cards to engage your students in practicing decimals and problem solving! This resource contains 22 task cards plus a challenge problem with a Twelve Days of Christmas theme. The cards are included in both PDF and Google Slides formats.

Each card contains a word problem based on the lyrics from the song. The problems involve using all four basic operations (adding, subtracting, multiplying, & dividing) with whole numbers and decimals.

The cards have a wide variety of word problems, so students practice different strategies. Some cards have a multistep problem, while others require more than one response.

Teachers could use these cards in a variety of ways:

  • bell ringers
  • morning work
  • exit tickets
  • spiral review
  • partner activity
  • center activity
  • early finisher activity
  • homework

I have also used these activities as an enrichment/extension activity for advanced students.

These cards do have color, but have been test printed in grayscale. They will print nicely both ways.
