This engaging math activity will have your kids begging to play it again and again. My students are always literally jumping up and down from excitement while playing. Jumping up and down during math? You bet.
Students will work in teams to race other teams to correctly complete 10 multiplication problems using numbers involving decimals ( to the tens and tenth places).
Place the tag sheet with the ten problems on one side of the room (I place them on my board). Teams will send one person at a time to the tag sheet to complete a problem.
Once the problem is completed they will race back to their team, tag the next person who will race to the board to complete the next problem.
Once all ten problems are completed, the team will bring their answer sheet to be corrected. If all the answers are correct, they win. If not, they are sent back to continue working on the problems.
The tension in the room will be palpable. The kids will beg to play another round.
This is a great activity to:
just have fun
All the tag sheets are presented in black and white. Copy the tag sheets on colored paper ( I copy each round in a different color for each round to make it easier to file) one for each team.
