This resource is intended to allow students to see and understand thousandths in multiple representations. Each number group includes a model, fraction, decimal, and expanded form (with decimals, not fractions—example 0.4 instead of 4 x 1/10). Just print and cut apart cards.
* Pages 2—9 should be printed front to back if you want card set to be “self checking.” Printing Double sided will allow the sets that belong together to be labeled on the back. If you do not want students to have a “key,” only print the even numbered pages (single sided)
Suggestions for use
Whole Class Activity or Independent Review Stations– Print a copy for each small group of 2 to 4 students. Students work in teams to put the four forms together for each number.
Intervention Small Group– Students discuss differences and explain why cards do or do not match.
Exit Ticket - Cut out cards and give only one to each student. Groups of four may “exit” together when they have found their three other classmates with the same number.
