Description

Can your students use some extra practice with decimal place value and rounding? Try a little monster math! This engaging, differentiated activity lets students review decimal place value and rounding as they color three cute monsters! This activity works well during your decimals unit as well as much later in the year when you need to review these skills.

Students spin a 0-9 spinner to build a number and follow the directions to color their monsters. The level of difficulty increases slightly as students move from Monster 1 to Monster 3 (i.e., Monster 3 involves decimals to the ten thousandths place).

  • blank monster coloring sheets
  • spinner template
  • directions for preparation and use
