Thanks for checking out my “Decimal Scoops” decimal matching game! Your students will love playing this fun game as they practice their skills with identifying word form and expanded form of decimals. Numbers in this game go through tenths and hundredths, perfectly matching with Common Core standards for fourth grade. This can also be a great review at the beginning of fifth, or an extension game for third grade.
For assembly, simply cut the cards on the lines and store all the pieces in a large Ziploc bag or envelope. Make sure to include the directions card. If using an envelope, there is also a label included for a title.
Game Directions: Students separate the cones from the scoops. Read the number on the cone and match up the word form and expanded form for each number. Simple enough to be played independently when finished with assigned work or in math workshop, or played with a partner or small group.
This game is also a great tool for math tutoring, or on a day when you know you will have a substitute filling in for you. Tuck it away for a day that you need a time filler that is meaningful and engaging!
