This Power Point presentation introduces decimals to the tenths and hundredths and it also exposes the students to basic mixed numbers as well. It is packed with visuals and includes embedded practice. The practice sheet that works well with this Power Point can also be found for free in my store. Using whiteboards for practice along with the PowerPoint works well!
Includes: standard form, word form, and lots visuals!
This PowerPoint is mostly visuals and leaves the explaining up to the teacher...not a bunch of "stuff" to read.
Great lesson to do for an evaluation!
The last slide of the lesson suggests having students create a fun and educational project to see how much their name is worth. For independent practice have student use hundredths charts to shade in each letter of their name, and see "how much their name is worth". Makes a great display as well. Supplies you will need to gather for the project include: lots of hundredths boxes (one for each letter of a student's name), crayons or colored pencils, and construction paper sliced in half "hot dog" style (for students to glue down the hundredths boxes).
*the final slide in the Power Point shows you an example of the project.
