Declarative or Interrogative?
“Declarative or Interrogative?” is a fun way for students to practice identifying if sentences are declarative or interrogative using the Mix-Freeze-Group cooperative learning structure.
Simply teach students the three easy steps in the activity (mix around the room, freeze at your signal, and group). Then, display the sentences in the resource on your whiteboard and let the fun begin! Students form groups of 2 if the sentence shown is a declarative. Students form groups of 3 if the sentence shown is an interrogative. After forming groups, encourage students to discuss their reasoning for their choices. This activity takes about 10 minutes to complete.
There are 8 sentences included in this free resource. Absolutely no prep needed – just download and go!
