I made these decoding strategy lessons. for classroom use. This can be used in small group instruction or intervention. This set is designated to use “flip the vowel” independently. The intent is to teach students to be able to switch between long and short vowel as a strategy for decoding.
The first activity should be copied back to front. Students use the arrow from the silent e to the vowel to show the vowel is long. Once they read the word, they flip to check.
The second activity should be copied on cardstock. Students can use dry erase markers, mini-erasers or mini clothespins to show the correct spelling for the picture.
The third activity should be copied on card stock and
I have included 146 cards.
